Painting Delight!

The mountains were fabulous!  I was there for a week and traveled from Tuolumne Meadows (Yosemite) to Mammoth Lakes and back up Highway 395 to Sonora Pass before heading home.

I had an opportunity to paint in oils and paint some sketches in watercolor.  I will post them on this blog this weekend.

Fall classes have started this week and as many of you now know, my Monday morning and Thursday night painting classes are very full.  Don't forget that I now teach painting at the Lafayette Studio on Thursday mornings as well, so if you're having trouble finding a class, this is a good one to consider.  It's smaller than my other classes and you will receive much more individual attention in this class.

Keep Painting!!

Fall Colors and Classes!

Well, the fall colors aren't actually here yet, but they're coming.  On the other hand, classes are here now!  If you haven't signed up and were planning to do so, this is the time to get it done.  One of my classes is already full and another has only one slot left.  Of course, if you miss getting into a class at Civic Arts, remember, I also teach at Lafayette Studio (www.lafayettestudio.org) and I have a brand new painting class there on Thursday mornings.  They are all posted under "classes" on my website.

As for me, well, fall colors or not, I'm off to paint in the mountains!  I love the Sierras and I will be returning with lots of new references and several new paintings.  In the fall, expect more paint-along exercises where we all paint together.  It was a good learning experience that will be fun to repeat.

Keep Painting and I hope to see (or at least hear from you) the week of September 12th when our Fall Session begins!

Happy Painting!!
